John Leffler is lead engineer in Forcon International’s Atlanta, GA, office. An experienced expert witness, Leffler has investigated more than 250 pedestrian fall incidents. He is vice chair of the ASTM F13 Pedestrian Safety Standards Committee, chair of the ASTM F15.03 Bathing Surfaces Safety Committee and primary author of two ASTM standards. He is a leader in the development of the latest U.S. pedestrian safety standards across four different standards development organizations. Leffler is also the de-facto manufacturer of Slip-Test walkway tribometers. He is board-certified in forensic engineering and is a licensed engineer (mechanical) in 11 states.

Wayne Maynard is product director, ergonomics and tribology, for Liberty Mutual Insurance’s Risk Control Technical Services organization in Boston, MA. In this role, he develops evidence-based products and services in ergonomics and fall prevention that support his organization and meet customer needs. He has authored and coauthored numerous articles and is a regular presenter at industry and safety conferences on slip, trip and fall prevention, and ergonomics. He holds leadership responsibilities on several ANSI and ASTM technical committees including ANSI/ASSP A1264 and ASTM International’s F13 Committee on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear, and he is vice chair of the F13.50 subcommittee on walkway surfaces.
