John Brewington, CAFM, CEM, has over five decades of fleet asset and management experience beginning with fleet management positions for two large contracting firms and transitioning in 1997 to his own consulting practice. During his "employed" years, he advanced to vice president of fleet operations for a 4,500-unit fleet, leading a team of 235 workers engaged in all aspects of fleet asset specifications, acquisition, maintenance, repair, testing, transportation and disposal. He currently operates Brewington and Co., a consulting practice providing fleet asset and management expertise for public and private-sector fleets across the U.S. and Canada. Brewington is an active member of five ANSI standards development groups: ANSI/ASSP A10.31 (chair), ANSI/ASSP Z15.1, ANSI/SAIA A92, ANSI/SAIA A92.2 and ANSI/SAIA A92.24. He holds the certified automotive fleet manager (CAFM) professional designation from the NAFA Fleet Management Association and the certified equipment manager (CEM) designation from the Association of Equipment Management Professionals.
