About the Author
Bruce K. Lyon, CSP, PE, SMS, ARM, CHMM, is Vice President, Risk Management Services, at Hays Companies. He has more than 30 years’ experience conducting and facilitating operational risk assessments. Lyon has written several books and articles on risk, including Risk Management Tools for Safety Professionals (ASSP 2018). Lyon serves as chair of the United States Technical Advisory Group: Technical Committee for ISO 31000 and is the vice chair of the Z590.3 Prevention Through Design committee. He received the 2018 CSP Award of Excellence from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Georgi Popov, PhD, CSP, QEP, SMS, ARM, CMC, FAIHA, is professor at the University of Central Missouri, teaching risk assessment. His research interests include risk assessment, safety management, prevention through design, and business aspects of OSH. Popov has written several books and articles on risk, including Risk Management Tools for Safety Professionals (ASSP 2018). Popov serves on the United States Technical Advisory Group: Technical Committee for ISO 31000 and is the chair of the Z590.3 Prevention Through Design committee. In 2017 he received ASSP’s William E. Tarrants Outstanding Safety Educator Award.
